Project Scope

An Indianapolis-based energy company selected BMWC as its mechanical partner to convert its existing coal-fired boilers to natural gas and fuel oil. BMWC’s scope of work included the prefabrication and installation of over 6,000 feet of natural gas piping, refractory installation, burner throat construction, and component substitutions.

The project was completed within a 10-month construction schedule, with BMWC delivering over 17,000 craft hours on time and within budget. Collaborating closely with the project’s engineering firm, BMWC utilized lean construction methods to implement cost-saving measures, streamline installations, and eliminate delays, ensuring the project’s success.
