Two Standout Performers: Meet BMWC’s 2026 Interns of the Year!

BMWC is proud to recognize two outstanding interns as our 2026 Interns of the Year. They were selected from a talented group of 32 interns nationwide. They both distinguished themselves through exceptional performance, leadership, initiative, and commitment to BMWC’s core values.

The Intern of the Year award recognizes interns who go above and beyond. Winners demonstrate excellence in productivity, teamwork, professionalism, growth, and project impact. Nominations are submitted by project teams and managers, with winners ultimately selected through a review process led by Human Resources and the Executive Leadership Team. This year’s winners stood out for their strong work ethic, commitment to learning, and meaningful contributions to their teams.

RJ Shealy, a Construction Intern and student at North Carolina State University, earned recognition for his reliability, initiative, and quick learning. His manager said that throughout his internship, RJ consistently demonstrated the qualities of a high-performing team member, taking on responsibilities beyond the typical intern role while requiring minimal supervision. Leadership noted his professionalism, adaptability, and eagerness to grow, highlighting his ability to quickly grasp new concepts and make meaningful contributions to the team.

Ramiro Towers, an Accounting Intern and student at Anderson University, was recognized for his exceptional communication skills, collaborative approach, and positive impact on his team. His manager said that throughout his internship, Ramiro built strong relationships across all levels of the organization, actively sought feedback, and contributed thoughtful feedback himself. Leadership highlighted his ability to seamlessly integrate into the team culture. Ramiro also made meaningful contributions to the Lilly Lebanon project, where he supported subcontractor invoice processing and helped resolve cost-related challenges across multiple teams.
