BMWC was happy to sponsor a scholarship in conjunction with the Chemical Industry Council of Illinois (CICI) that is awarded to an Illinois high school student who is chosen based on merit and interest in pursuing a degree in the chemical industry. This year’s BMWC Scholarship recipient was Emmaly Ragsdale. We are very excited to encourage Emmaly in her work towards becoming a Chemical Engineer.

Emmaly is currently a Senior at Southwestern High where she is ranked 1 of 113 students with a 4.0 GPA. Throughout high school, she has been involved in Future Farmers of America (FFA) and has volunteered for the Special Olympics Event for Beverly Farms. She has a love for horses, and works at the Beverly Farms Equestrian Center teaching riding lessons and trains horses. She also volunteers with the Equine Therapy Program at Beverly Farms.

Her goal is to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering and utilize it in the Agriculture Industry. Already recognized as an Illinois State Scholar and Southwestern High’s Student of the Month, there is no doubt she will achieve whatever she sets her mind to.

As an active member of CICI, an Illinois based trade association, BMWC is able to support incredible students like Emmaly who have a strong interest in engineering and the sciences. The CICI association, established in 1951, develops products and policies that advance the chemical industry and makes Illinois a better place to create jobs. It also works to inspire and encourage students like Emmaly to pursue careers in this field. We are glad to support this vision, alongside 205 other members throughout Illinois.
