The 2017 summer interns recently gathered in Indianapolis to celebrate and analyze their experience with BMWC. The day began with presentations from each intern, which broke down their basic responsibilities throughout the summer along with their favorite moment, greatest challenge and key learning experiences. With interns at various job sites and offices throughout the country, the presentations were a great chance for interns to become aware of the different opportunities BMWC affords its employees across the U.S. The whole day wasn’t spent in the Indy office focused on serious topics; as Portland intern Trey Shigezawa would say, “we worked hard, then played hard.” Following the “work,” the interns had a fun-filled afternoon taking part in a team building Escape Room exercise and enjoyed dinner at Indianapolis’ famous Old Spaghetti Factory.

Events like this are all in an effort to grow and enhance BMWC’s internship program. Having a strong internship program is essential to BMWC’s pursuit to acquire young talent. Corporate Recruiting Manager Steve Skillern has had much success recruiting promising young students to participate in BMWC internships, which has lead to several hires upon graduation. BMWC continues to search for emerging young leaders to add to the BMWC team.
