BMWC Awarded Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) STAR Renewal Status Plaque

BMWC was proud to accept OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Mobile Worksite Star Status renewal plaque presented by the Indiana Department of Labor’s VPP Leader, Beth Gonzalez. BMWC has been an approved contractor in OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program for 18 consecutive years and has had Mobile Worksite Star Status for seven straight years. This incredible accomplishment would not be possible without our employees’ and clients’ commitment to Safety for Life. Thank you for helping us maintain this prestigious status, and thank you to OSHA and the Indiana Department of Labor for your ongoing partnership.

What is the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)?

The VPP recognizes organizations and their workers for successfully maintaining injury and illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for their industries.

How to achieve STAR Status under OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program (VPP):

Employers must submit a completed application to OSHA for review. Once the request to join the VPP has been processed, a thorough onsite evaluation will be conducted by a group of safety and health professionals. If it is deemed the company is qualified to participate in the VPP, they will then be re-evaluated every three to five years to remain in the program.

Why join the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP)?

In addition to being part of a prestigious program, a great perk that VPP participants have is their exemption from all OSHA-programmed inspections while they maintain their status.

How BMWC Maintains VPP STAR status:

BMWC was the first contractor in Indiana to receive the original VPP Certified status in 2004 and will continue to strive for excellence in years to come. To help ensure the best health and safety practices are followed, we participate in programs such as Construction Safety Week. We are proud of our team for their continued dedication to upholding the highest health and safety standards.
